Two other bodies were recovered from the flood-ravaged Tapovan-Vishnugad hydel project site, bringing the death toll in the Uttarakhand calamity to 67 even as search operations continued on Sunday, Day 15.
Three bodies were recovered from the depollution tank near the Tapovan project dam on Saturday evening, while two more were extracted late at night, district administration officials said.
The research operation on the project site has been underway on a war footing for a fortnight since it bore the brunt of an avalanche triggered by the bursting of a glacier on Rishi Ganga in the district. de Chamoli on February 7.
The Rishi Ganga 13.2 mw hydel project was totally demolished in the avalanche while the Tapovan-Vishnugad hydel project suffered significant damage.
The recovery of five bodies on Saturday brings the toll of the tragedy to 67 while 137 are still missing.
