Toyota has officially unveiled the new Innova facelift in the Indonesian market, which comes in two versions – Kijang Innova and Venturer. The minivan is expected to arrive on Indian shores by next year.
Updated Toyota Innova Crysta MPV to launch in India next year
Toyota, the Japanese automaker has unveiled the refurbished version of the Innova Crysta for the Indonesian market. The new Indonesian-spec Innova now comes with an updated exterior and interiors, which look more attractive and feature-packed than the outgoing model. In Indonesia, the automaker offers the MPV in two versions – Innova and Venturer, while the same model is sold in India as Innova Crysta and Innova Crysta Touring Sport. Before its debut, images of the MPV’s brochures appeared online, revealing important specs and feature details.

The refurbished MPV Innova will be retailed in Kijang Innova and Sporty Venturer iterations in the Indonesian market. While the regular Kijang Innova model gets a trapezoidal chrome grille up front, the Venturer iteration sports a piano black grille. Additionally, the Kijang Innova comes equipped with 16-inch two-tone alloys while the Venturer gets larger 17-inch alloy wheels. The MPV also receives sharper LED headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, a fake skid plate, new fog lights, black tailgate trim and more. However, the design of the rear lights of the MPV remains unchanged.
Inside, both models come with an all-black interior with subtle changes with the wood finish that has been removed from the dashboard. The minivan gets a 6-seater configuration with captain’s seats in the middle. For features, the car is equipped with ambient lighting, 9 inch touchscreen head unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear entertainment unit, air purifier, a rear view camera, dual airbags, curtain airbags, knee airbags, side airbags, vehicle stability control, hill start assist and more. It also comes with a built-in air purifier to improve the air quality in the passenger compartment.

Mechanically, the Toyota Innova minivan comes with a choice of gasoline and diesel engines. The petrol engine is a 2.0-liter VVT-i dual unit that develops 137 hp at 5,600 rpm and 183.3 Nm of maximum torque. The oil burner, on the other hand, is a 2.4-liter VNT unit capable of producing 148 hp, and offers two different torque outputs 343 Nm and 360 Nm depending on the variant. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. The Indian model should have the same mechanical configuration. -These variants are also coming The car is expected to hit our shores in 2021.
