2023: Why Peter Obi must step down for Tinubu – Adeyanju

Deji Adeyanju, a socio-political activist, on Saturday described People’s Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and his Labor Party counterpart, LP, Peter Obi, as business partners.

Adeyanju said those who vote for Obi will do the same for Atiku.

In a series of tweets, Adeyanju urged Nigerians to vote for a presidential candidate who has never stolen public funds.

He wrote: “A vote for Obi is a vote for Atiku. Remember, they are both business partners and ran together in 2019. Vote for a candidate who has never stolen public funds; clean start for Nigeria.”

The Abuja-based activist also suggested that LP members should persuade Obi to step down in front of All Progressives Congress, APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

He explained that the vote in the southern part of the country would not be divided if Obi steps down for Tinubu.

“Since the people of the Labor Party say they don’t mind Tinubu over Atiku so why not persuade your candidate to step down for Asiwaju not to split the South’s vote as you South United are doing to avoid another northerner ? This suggestion is very good,” he wrote.

Recall that Obi was Atiku’s running mate in the 2019 presidential election under the PDP.

However, he dumped PDP in 2023 for the Labor Party.
