4 dead, 1 seriously injured in head-on crash near Peterborough, says OPP | TBEN news


Four people were killed in a head-on collision between a pickup truck and an SUV near Peterborough, Ontario. on Tuesday night, according to the Ontario Provincial Police.

A fifth person was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Acting sergeant. Robert Simpson, spokesman for OPP’s Central Region, said the crash occurred on Highway 7 near Drummond Line. Police were called around 5:15 p.m

Simpson said one vehicle was traveling east while the other vehicle was traveling west. He said the collision is still under investigation.

The ages and genders of the victims have not been released. Next of kin will be notified.

The police are calling on anyone who has seen anything or has camera images on the dashboard to report.

Highway 7 is closed between Keene Road and Heritage Line while officers investigate. Police said on Tuesday night it would be closed for several hours.
