50 Cent parts ways with Starz; “No Hard Feelings” Says ‘Power’ EP As His G-Unit Looks For A New Deal Elsewhere

UPDATED: Less than a week after breaking it up at the Emmys and MPTF’s Evening Before party, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson loosens his longstanding deal with Starz, choosing not to renew his wealthy pact at Lionsgate’s premium cable channel .

In a series of social media posts over the past few hours, the hip-hop icon and Current franchise executive producer Sayonara’s offer to Starz.

Jackson’s representatives have confirmed to TBEN that he has not renewed his agreement with Starz. He is believed to receive multiple offers from streamers and studios for his G-Unit Film & Television, whose current list includes 25 series in production and projects in development. AAn announcement of Jackson’s new TV home would be imminent. A Starz representative declined to comment.

Throwing a pair of celebrating Pittsburgh Pirates into the mix, the Get rich or die trying artist added that there were “no hard feelings” at parting with Starz:

Set up with projects across the industry from TBEN to Ryan Kavanaugh’s Proxima Media to Peacock and Discovery+ (in partnership with Lionsgate) via his G-Unit shingle, Jackson recently saw the second season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan premiere on Starz. Already deep in production, a second season of Power Book IV: Force is coming, just like a season 2 of bmf, and a third season of Raising kanan, all EP’d by Jackson. Last year, Current creator Courtney Kemp decided not to renew her deal with Lionsgate and went to Netflix. With 30 million albums sold and a slew of screens big and small, actor, producer, director, executive and Grammy-winning rapper 50 Cent is also leaving the Lionsgate fold for a big new deal wherever that may be.
