A ‘Yellowstone’ bar fight sees Beth go down and Kayce quits

from Yellowstone The final episode was a momentum shift for each of the Dutton kids as John took a backseat for a change.

After last week’s back-to-back episodes, John, Beth and Jamie came to grips with their new political roles in Montana, while Kayce and his wife Monica coped with the loss of their unborn child.

A new problem arose when some of Yellowstone’s ranch hands accidentally shot a pack of protected wolves. They threw away the tags to try and cover their backs, but it seems inevitable that they will be discovered.

What happened in Yellowstone Episode 3?

Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 3, “Tall Drink of Water,” begins with a flashback, when we saw a younger John Dutton (Josh Lucas) leading some of his ranch hands on a horseback ride, a young Rip being one of them.

They split up and find a group of animals that have died and been eaten by wolves. John Dutton attends a town meeting where dozens of angry Montanans complain about the wolves invading their land. John joins the board of directors as a commissioner, proving his political experience. He explains how support from ranchers helped reintroduce the wolves into the wild as an endangered species, but they seem to have gotten out of control.

Beth and Rip enjoy a fun moment at a bar before a brawl, started by Beth, breaks out in Episode 3 of “Yellowstone” Season 6. The show returns to Paramount Network with Episode 4, “Horses in Heaven,” on Sunday November 27. .

Perhaps the continuation of this flashback story means it will eventually come into play at the current Yellowstone ranch.

Back in the present, Rip wakes up to see Beth as she prepares for a trip to Salt Lake City. She walks to the porch where her father, John, is sitting. During a light-hearted conversation, she drops the ball when she gives in to her “first threesome.”

“God damn it, Beth,” is all John can answer. After reminiscing about Beth’s dead mother, she urges him to find someone else to love, no matter how much it hurt the daughter to tell him.

Bunkhouse Birthday

Elsewhere on the ranch, we see the farmers getting ready for the day in the bunk, with everyone wishing Lloyd a happy 58th birthday, as well as joking about how he looks older.

Rip shares a sweet moment with Carter, who fell off a horse in the stable last week. Rip tells him to saddle up and tells his adopted son “if we want to make you a cowboy, we’ll go out every day.”

Interrupting the sweet moment, what Rip feared happens. Law enforcement investigating the missing wolves park and begin questioning him. Rip plays dumb, but the officials insist that he ride with them to track down the wolves.

Rip accompanies them to where the wolves were actually killed, but it appears they covered their tracks and plowed the land, removing all evidence. He leaves the two there and tells them that the river they are looking for is beyond a treacherous mountain. This storyline will no doubt be revisited next week.

Kayce and Monica

Kayce and Monica talk to members of Monica’s tribe and discuss how they are going to say goodbye to their son’s ghost. It is the fourth day since the death of the child, which means that the ceremony must take place.

After Monica walks away, he reveals that his vision told him he had to choose between his job as a cattle rancher and his marriage. He immediately chooses Monica and his son Tate. He asks Thomas Rainwater for a job on the reservation, but he can’t give him anything. Instead, it is suggested that he ask his brother Jamie for a job as an investigator for the Montana Department of Justice in their area.

Inside the house, Monica screams and cuts her hair in a fit of rage. It’s the first time we’ve seen her express her grief since the loss of her child.

Kayce later arrives in Yellowstone, a place we haven’t seen him in a while. He arrives to talk to his father, the Governor of Montana. He asks John if they can bury their baby there so it can be a place to visit him. It’s quite reminiscent of James Dutton (Tim McGraw) in the prequel series 1883who buried his daughter Elsa on Yellowstone land, and so they settled in Montana.

He also informs John that he is quitting his job. Reluctantly, John accepts his decision.

Jamie in the crosshairs

Jamie arrives at his office where he is served by Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) and the members of Market Equities. As we know from last week, she plans to get her way by taking advantage of Jamie’s unease with his family and hers.

Initially, Jamie has the upper hand in the meeting as he rattles Councilor Ellis who accompanies Sarah, but after he leaves she goes to work with him. She makes a financial appeal to Jamie, believing she knows he knows he made a mistake in canceling the lease. Sarah tells Jamie she’s not there for the trial, she’s there to “find a soft landing, for both of us.”

She works her magic and invites him to dinner at the Deer Field Club. When she leaves the room, it turns out that she and the alderman had been playing with Jamie the whole time. Again, Episode 4 will likely see what happens when Sarah tries to manipulate Jamie

Beth Dutton’s Genius and Hubris

Beth, who owns a majority stake in investment firm Schwartz & Meyer, is in town to offer her stock in exchange for the property. Rob, the man she meets, claims it’s too good to be true, so he doesn’t trust her. In private, she informs him that she is giving up all her power because Market Equities will go after her share in a lawsuit.

Without much convincing, Rob signs the complicated deal, much to Beth’s delight. And with that, she leaves Salt Lake City and heads back to Yellowstone.

Beth is thrilled, but Caroline Warner, CEO of Market Equities, is furious to see Burson International acquire Schwartz & Myer. As she is remembered by New York’s higher educated, Caroline tells Ellis to “ruin this family”, referring to the Duttons.

Wanting to celebrate her victory, Beth, Rip and Carter go to the dormitory where they celebrate Lloyd’s birthday with a card game. Bored of this, Beth suggests going bigger and going to a bar in Bozeman. Rip tries to stand his ground, but Beth gets her way.

Abbey, played by real life country music star Lainey Wilson, happens to be in the bar. She danced with Ryan in episode 1 and seems much happier to see and dance with him this time.

As Rip warned, things inevitably spiral out of control when a woman starts flirting with him. She makes the ill-advised decision to approach an angry Beth, who breaks a bottle over her head. A brawl ensues in a bar, but the police come to settle things. Even outside, Beth holds a grudge against the woman and punches her in the face.

The police let all the farmers go, but Sheriff Ramsey informs Rip that Beth will be charged with aggravated assault. As the police vehicle drives Beth away, another episode ends with a big problem for Rip.

Yellowstone returns to Paramount Network on Sunday, November 27 with Episode 4, “Horses in Heaven.”
