The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 witnessed an exceptional run for the capitals of Delhi. Shreyas Iyer & Co made their first final after finishing second in the championship phase. They may have lost the last game to the Mumbai Indians by five wickets, they impressed every follower of the game by presenting an exemplary example of teamwork.
With the next IPL season in a few months and the mega-auction is on the cards, former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has picked five players DC is expected to keep for 2021.
“If they have to keep 5 players, 3 Indians and 2 overseas, they don’t have an uncapped player they will think about keeping,” Chopra said in a YouTube video.

Among the three Indian players, Chopra’s picks are Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant. The former Indian opener backed Pant despite a meager season and believes the franchise would do the same.
“I would say Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant like the three Indians although Rishabh Pant has not had a good year, but I will definitely hold it back and I’m pretty sure the Delhi Capitals will do that too,” he said. Chopra said.
The two foreign players chosen by Chopra were Marcus Stoinis and Kagiso Rabada, ahead of Anrich Nortje.
“If I have to keep two foreign players, I would like to keep Marcus Stoinis and Kagiso Rabada. There might be a draw between Marcus Stoinis and Anrich Nortje, but I’ll go with Marcus and try to buy Nortje back in the auction, ”said Chopra.

Aakash Chopra has suggested that DC may let go of some of the key players and try to bring them back up for auction.
“The others will have to go. They will be a little sad for players like Prithvi Shaw, Ashwin and Axar Patel as they are two or three players that they might want to keep in the squad, but I don’t think it will be possible to keep them all. “Said Chopra.
