AEW President Tony Khan has announced that the quarter-final match of the AEW Women’s World Title Elimination Tournament between Thunder Rosa and Riho will be streamed for free on Bleacher Report on Sunday, February 28.
Khan made the announcement on his Twitter account, writing the following:
“The #AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament USA semi-final featuring former AEW Women’s World Champion Riho against former NWA Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa is shown on Bleacher Report February 28 on a special free Sunday, one week before the PPV revolution!
This is done to take the AEW Revolution pay-per-view event on March 7, which will be broadcast on BR Live, a step further. Khan continued with other tweets in which he mentioned that he was pushing for a Sunday show on the platform to prepare fans, as AEW had never had a PPV event on Sunday.
Dave Meltzer noted on F4Wonline.com that there will be a couple of games on the show. Apart from the Riho vs Rosa match, the Japanese bracket final of the tournament will also be part of the special.
The winner of the Japanese bracket match will make an appearance on the March 3 edition of Dynamite to face the winner of the American bracket (the winner Rosa vs Riho against whoever passes the other half of the American bracket). So far on the US side of the tournament are Anna Jay, Britt Baker, Tay Conti and Nyla Rose in addition to Rosa and Riho. The American Bracket Final will air on March 1 on YouTube.
Once the tournament finals are over on March 3, the winner will challenge Hikaru Shida for the women’s title on March 7 at Revolution.
