When Saraya (former WWE star Paige) arrived at AEW on Wednesday night at the Dynamite: Grand Slam event, many fans wondered what kind of role she will be used by the promotion.
Her arrival came after the fatal 4-way match in which Interim Women’s Champion Toni Storm retained her title over Britt Bake, Serena Deeb and Athena while rescuing Athena and Storm, who were attacked by Baker, Jamie Hayter and Rebel.
Saraya said this was her house. Baker noted in several interviews in the past that Saraya is one of her dream opponents. Once this angle was formed, it looked like AEW started a feud between Saraya and Baker here.
Like when she was in WWE, no one was allowed to touch Saraya in her AEW debut, and she was not allowed to get physical with anyone in the ring.

In the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that “she hadn’t been acquitted recently, which would explain that she didn’t touch anyone, but [she] would like to be cleaned up.”
Saraya has not wrestled since 2017 due to spinal stenosis, which is why she is not approved to wrestle. However, people like Edge and Sting were able to be medically cured years after they were told they couldn’t struggle because of spinal stenosis.
Saraya will referee in a few weeks for her family’s WAW promotion.
