A week after announcing the inclusion of Bitcoin as a payment method, US movie theater chain AMC may soon start accepting Dogecoin as well. AMC will soon allow customers to purchase movie tickets through multiple cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin, as well as benefit from concessions. And according to media reports, Dogecoin supporters have taken AMC by storm with demands to include the memes-based cryptocurrency. As a result, AMC now appears to be seeking the opinion of the general public if it allows Dogecoin to enter the mix.
Adam Aron, CEO of AMC published a poll on Twitter asking his 171,000 subscribers to vote on Tuesday, September 21. At the time of writing, the post had 117,026 votes, with almost 70% in favor of accepting Dogecoin backed by Elon Musk. On the flip side, 15% of voters, being the second highest ranked poll option, said that including Dogecoin as a payment option was a “waste of effort.”
I sincerely want to hear your opinion, through this Twitter poll. By the end of 2021, AMC will use Bitcoin, Etherum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash for online payments. I’ve heard from many people on my Twitter thread that we should be accepting Dogecoin as well. Do you think AMC should consider accepting Dogecoin?

From the comments, the public reaction to the development appears to be in favor of accepting Dogecoin as a payment option for the tickets.
“That’s great. Now maybe a stock option for employees like Walmart does. Simple deduction from paycheck. $ 5 monthly minimum to invest,” Twitter user @Casterstoy noted.
While some people thanked the CEO of AMC for listening to the public’s demands, others pointed out that Dogecoin is worth less than Bitcoin and Ethereum, which could allow more people to use the crypto. -currency to facilitate payments. On Wednesday September 22 at 5 p.m., the Dogecoin price in India was Rs. 16.3 ($ 0.22).
Bitcoin and Ethereum fees are higher than the damn movie ticket.
So yes, AMC should accept DOGE.

Sentiment towards cryptocurrencies is witnessing a positive and tolerant change in several parts of the world.
Earlier this month, El Salvador became the first country in the world to make Bitcoin legal tender alongside the US dollar.
In India, the finance ministry is also reportedly looking at ways to tax cryptocurrency-based income before extending the cryptocurrency bill in parliament later this year.
