Dubai: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, on Thursday handed over the flag of the Hamdan bin Mohammed program for a smart government 2020 to the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), for winning the award for best government initiative for its smart life initiative.
The winners were honored at a ceremony at the Hamdan Hub 2020, hosted by Dubai The Model Center (DTMC), a branch of the General Secretariat of the Dubai Executive Council. Sewa’s Smart Life initiative was awarded among eight initiatives selected from a total of 50 initiatives submitted by 28 government entities.
“In line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, to improve government performance, keep pace with the future and meet the expectations of our community , we are focusing our efforts on strengthening Dubai’s position in government services to become one of the major cities in the world, ”said Sheikh Hamdan.
“Whatever the challenges, our aspirations are enormous… our ambitions have no limits…. We will continue our efforts in the pursuit of further development and improvement…. There is no finish line in our dictionary, ”said Sheikh Hamdan.
“We are continually working to develop and improve our government services to keep pace with global challenges in government services by launching unique initiatives that are primarily aimed at improving quality of life,” he added.
Sheikh Hamdan said he was proud to see the remarkable efforts of government entities to achieve customer happiness, which is the ultimate indicator of quality services.
