Apple abandons space gray colourway for magic keyboards, more accessories

Apple ends the Space Gray era! Fans of Apple’s “ space gray ” color: the company is officially abandoning the hue of its magic keyboards, mice, trackpads and other accessories.

So if you’re impatient to buy one, do it quickly, as they will only be sold “ while supplies last, ” each ad said.

According to The Verge, on Apple’s store page, these accessories are currently on sale but with a message “while supplies remain.” Apple confirmed at point of sale that it will no longer sell the space gray accessories once stocks run out, but the silver variants will still be available.

The message is the same one that appeared on the iMac Pro before it was permanently listed as “out of stock.” Now that Apple’s space gray desk is gone, it looks like the company has decided to stop making space gray accessories.

It’s a bit odd, considering Apple retained the color when it introduced the MacBook M1s, where external mice and keyboards might still be in demand. The discontinuation of dark accessories raises the question of whether it will stay in the rumored overhaul, or if Apple will follow the colorful path it has taken with the new iMacs.
