Apple Watch Series 7 with a whole new design, big screens go official

The Apple Watch Series 7 launched on Tuesday at the company’s “California streaming” event. The new Apple Watch model is the eighth iteration of the connected watch series launched by the Cupertino giant since its first generation in 2015. The Apple Watch Series 7 is a significant upgrade from the 6 series of the year latest, including a major overhaul. There are thin 1.7mm bezels to maximize the display area while barely changing the dimensions of the watch itself. The addition of the new design also allows the Apple Watch Series 7 to offer the largest display ever offered in the 45-millimeter size variant. The watch is also available in a smaller 41 millimeter option. Apple claims that using the new design, the Apple Watch Series 7 offers 20% more screen area than the Apple Watch Series 6, and 50% compared to the entry-level Series 3 model. .

Apple Watch Series 7 price in India, availability details

The Apple Watch Series 7 GPS-only will be available for $ 399 (around Rs. 29,400) in the US, while the Apple Watch Series 7 GPS + Cellular option starts at $ 499 (around Rs. 36,800). It will be available in five new aluminum housing colors, including Midnight, Starlight, Green and a new blue and (PRODUCT) RED.

Details on the price and availability of the Apple Watch Series 7 in India have yet to be announced, although Apple has said it will be available in the United States later this fall.

The Apple Watch Series 6 was launched in India with a starting price of Rs. 40,900 for the GPS variant and Rs. 49,900 for the GPS + Cellular option. It debuted in the United States with the same starting price of $ 399 that is available with the Apple Watch Series 7.

As an upgrade to the Apple Watch Series 6 available in 40mm and 44mm, the Apple Watch Series 7 is available in 41mm and 45mm case options. Apple kept its always-on Retina display on the new Apple Watch that was available on previous models. However, there are some improvements to the screen that are said to provide up to 70% brighter results indoors than the Apple Watch Series 6.

Apple designed the Apple Watch Series 7 screen with 20% more screen area and thinner bezels at just 1.7mm. These are 40% smaller than those of the Apple Watch Series 6.

The key USP of the Apple Watch product line is its health and fitness features. While Apple hasn’t provided any significant additions on this front, you get most of the features commonly available to track your health and wellness on the go. Apple Watch Series 7 offers blood oxygen saturation (SpO2) monitoring using a built-in blood oxygen sensor. It is also capable of tracking heart rate using an electric heart rate sensor which was first introduced on the Apple Watch Series 4 and also available on the latest generation model. The smartwatch can also detect atrial fibrillation (AFib) and can provide an electrocardiogram (ECG) report.

Apple provided watchOS 8 on the Apple Watch Series 7 out of the box. The new operating system, which was unveiled at WWDC 2021 in June, comes preloaded with an upgraded Breathe app called Mindfulness to help you improve your well-being both physically and mentally.

The Apple Watch Series 7 is also capable of providing enhanced sleep tracking, with features like respiratory rate and sleep trends. Additionally, the new Apple Watch has two unique watch faces – Contour and Modular Duo – which dynamically come to life as the wrist is raised.

Along with a larger screen, the Apple Watch Series 7 also offers larger font sizes and a new QWERTY keyboard that can be typed or swiped with QuickPath to allow users to swipe a finger to type.

Apple claims the Apple Watch Series 7 can last up to 18 hours on a single charge. It is identical to last year’s model. Still, Apple claims the new Apple Watch offers 33% faster charging.

The Apple Watch Series 7 comes with an IP6X certified construction designed to resist dust. There is also the WR50 rating for water resistance. In addition, the new Apple Watch comes with a USB-C cable for magnetic fast charger and supports all Apple Watch bands designed for previous models.
