Apple’s Mixed Reality Headset Launch May Be Delayed
Apple’s mixed reality headset could debut later than originally planned.
People familiar with the situation told Bloomberg that Apple is considering delaying the launch of its mixed reality headset for at least a few months. It was originally slated to debut at WWDC in June, and retail availability was planned for the end of the year.
Apple is reportedly facing development issues with the headset, including overheating caused by the use of high-end processors, cameras, and software issues. Supply chain partners have been told the mixed reality headset may not be released until next year.
Bloomberg added that WWDC 2023 will focus on creating virtual and augmented reality applications for the headset. The mixed reality headset is rumored to have its own app store and be designed for gaming, media consumption, and communications.
