SINGAPORE: Members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) can take advantage of “dynamic” technology and the Indian start-up scene to advance initiatives that facilitate finance and development. trade, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said Thursday (October 28th).
Speaking at the 18th ASEAN-India Summit held virtually, Lee noted that there is room to work together in this area.
“There are many opportunities for collaboration to create interoperable digital financial systems focused on including our local communities and expanding opportunities for our businesses,” he said.
On public health cooperation, including the supply and distribution of vaccines, Lee noted that India plays a “critical role” in the global pharmaceutical supply chain.
“As an aviation and transshipment hub with strong cold chain capabilities, Singapore can support India as an efficient vaccine transshipment point for South East Asia and beyond” , he added.
Singapore is currently the National Coordinator of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations.
