Ben Affleck FINALLY addresses his romance with Jennifer Lopez by criticizing the “ sexist and racist ” remarks made about him: “ People were so mean ”

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez fell in love on the set of their movie Gigli and ended up getting engaged.

The romance was tabloid fodder as he was seen rubbing his butt in his Jenny From The Block music video and they hit events on the red carpet in coordinating outfits.

Now, the manager of Oscar-winning Argo has reflected on this relationship sharing that he feels people are generally mean and racist towards their union. “ People were so mean about him – sexist, racist, ” the Batman star told The Hollywood Reporter.

The two got engaged in 2002 with great fanfare when he presented her with a pink diamond ring.

They were supposed to get married in 2003, but they picked up on which tabloids thought it meant trouble. In early 2004, the two called off their engagement.

“ Ugly, vicious shit was written about her in a way that if you wrote it down now you would literally be fired for saying those things you said, ” Affleck said on the podcast.

“ Now it’s like she’s admired and respected for the work she’s done, where she’s from, what she’s accomplished – as she should be! ”

Jennifer Garner’s ex-husband added: ‘I would say you have a better chance, coming from the Bronx, of ending up as [Justice Sonia] Sotomayor to the Supreme Court that you have the career of Jennifer Lopez and be who she is at 50 years old today.

Affleck added, “ You know there’s always a story of the month, and me dating Jennifer Lopez was that tabloid story when this business grew exponentially.

‘Still, to this day, [some] will go, “I see you there in the paparazzi and the photos!”

Ben is now dating Ana de Armas and Jennifer is engaged to Alex Rodriguez.

In 2018, Jennifer said dating Ben got more attention than dating Alex.

“ It was actually worse back then, ” she told InStyle. “It was just crazy. At least I can show you a little bit of who I am. Back then, you believed everything you read on the cover of a tabloid. Often it wasn’t true, or it was like a third of the truth.
