Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has said he intended to ask Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to involve Shin Bet in fighting crime among Arabs in Israel. The Jerusalem Post reported Friday.
Fighting crime in the Arab community was part of the coalition deal between Likud and Ben-Gvir’s Otzma Yehudit party.

Ben-Gvir explained that while he appreciates the efforts of the police, Shin Bet will have to work alongside them.
“Mobilizing Shin Bet cannot be avoided to deal with a phenomenon that is becoming a scourge,” said Ben-Gvir. The Jerusalem Post.
He noted that Shin Bet can: “Collect more quality information and use investigative authorities that have not been granted to the police.”
