Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar on Saturday took to Twitter to denounce reports claiming he no longer wanted to play Test cricket. Bhuvneshwar was not selected from the Indian test team for the upcoming England tour which left a lot of people in shock and caused a huge wave on social media. The fast bowler, in his post, said that “regardless of the team selection” he has always prepared to represent the nation in all three formats and will continue to do the same in the future. Bhuvneshwar ended his tweet with a “suggestion”: “Please don’t write your assumptions based on” sources “!”

“There have been reports that I didn’t want to play test cricket. Just to clarify, I have always prepared for all three formats regardless of team selection and will continue to do the same. Suggestion – please don’t write your assumptions based on “sources”! ”Bhuvneshwar tweeted.

Bhunvneshwar, who has appeared in 21 tests for India, last appeared in the longest format in 2018 against South Africa in January 2018. The designer has suffered multiple injuries over the past two years and missed important rounds of tests at home and away.


Bhuvneshwar has 63 wickets in just 37 innings and is posting an impressive 26.90 average. It also has four lines of five wickets in the red ball format.

He last played in the now postponed 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) for SunRisers Hyderabad and won three wickets in five outings.
