President Joe Biden will announce Monday that the US assassinated Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al-Zawahiri after he put down President Donald Trump when he announced the US had shut down ISIS and Iranian terrorist leaders in 2019 and 2020.
When Trump confirmed in October 2019 that US special forces had found and killed ISIS founder and leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Biden offered no simple congratulations but said the operation had succeeded despite Trump’s “irregular” behavior
Former Vice President Joe Biden, a leading White House for 2020, hopeful, said Monday that ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was killed in a US military operation, despite President Trump’s “incompetence” as commander in chief.
“I am pleased that President Trump has ordered the mission,” Biden said in a statement. “But as more details about the heist emerge, it is clear that this win was not due to… Donald Trump’s leadership. It happened despite his incompetence as commander in chief.”
“Its erratic behavior made it more difficult and dangerous for the special forces running it. And they had to fly through territory that is now hostile to the US, taking fire along the way — including territory we controlled a few weeks ago,” Biden said.
When Trump ordered the successful operation to take out Iranian terrorist general Qasem Soleimani in December 2020, Biden and the other Democrats running for president turned down the operation, saying it made war in the Middle East more likely. would make:
Former Vice President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that President Donald Trump’s claim that he ordered a drone strike on Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani to avert an “imminent attack” cannot be taken on the face of it. because the Commander-in-Chief “ lied so much”. .”
In an interview with NBC News’ Lester Holt, Biden, a Democratic presidential candidate, said of Trump, “I’m by no means giving him the benefit of the doubt.”
Biden said the attack that killed Soleimani “brings us a lot closer to war. We’re deploying 18,000 extra troops in the region. Have we – have they made plans in advance to make sure they secure all the bases we have and all the areas where Americans are actually more vulnerable because of Iraq proxies – from Iran?”
Al-Zawahiri was apparently killed by a CIA drone in Afghanistan. Biden, who has a low approval rating, is expected to benefit from the news, especially as the one-year anniversary of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan approaches.
Though the country had been lost to Taliban terrorists, fearing the return of Al Qaeda, and 13 U.S. servicemen lost their lives in the chaotic evacuation, Biden promised the U.S. would maintain “over-the-horizon” capabilities there. .
Al-Zawahiri took over Al Qaeda after US troops knocked out Osama bin Laden in 2011. He was one of the most elusive terror figures in the world, and US intelligence hunted him for years in vain until he was eventually found and killed.
