Global specialist insurance and reinsurance broker BMS is reporting that effective January 17 it has acquired Austbrokers Coast to Coast (C2C), a specialist Australian commercial, corporate and retail broker.
BMS fully acquires C2C, transferring staff and infrastructure to BMS’ existing Australian operations.
Based in Burleigh Heads on Queensland’s Gold Coast, C2C was founded in 1982 and specializes in transport, construction, dangerous goods and retail small to medium businesses.
Andrew Godden, chief executive of BMS’ Australian operations, said the acquisition “fits well” with the continued expansion within the Australian market.
National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) C2C principal Dale Hansen has been working with C2C for over 16 years. He and his team will join BMS.
The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
London-based BMS has 28 locations and more than 800 employees worldwide.
