Brush fire causes closure of 10 and 57 highways in Pomona area


A forest fire in the Pomona area led to the closure of some highway crossings on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 12:25 a.m. near the 10 Freeway and the 57 Freeway interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Some highway connections were closed while firefighters worked to put out the flames.

Cal Poly Pomona released a statement saying: “We are aware of a minor fire near the CPP campus caused by a car accident. CHP and LA County Fire on site. No impact on campus at this time . We will provide updates if the situation changes.”
