Jamie Carragher believes Jude Bellingham could soon follow Erling Haaland out of Borussia Dortmund – and Liverpool could benefit from the midfielder’s signing.
Both players have previously had links with transfers away from the Bundesliga giants. This despite the fact that the pair are still relatively early in their career at Dortmund.
Haaland has been in Dortmund longer and therefore had closer ties to a move elsewhere. Indeed, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea would have an interest.
However, Dortmund were all but eliminated from the Champions League on Wednesday. A 3-1 loss to Sporting left them third in Group C, three points behind the Portuguese club before the final matchday. However, there is a 10-goal swing to reverse.
Haaland has missed the last two European matches due to injury. Longer term, however, he would like to enter the competition to further his already brilliant career.
English midfielder Bellingham has the same ambition and Carragher believes Liverpool could take advantage of their desire to move on – possibly in the summer.
“[Dortmund] had no Haaland tonight he was out, ”Carragher said Printing sessions (via the Echo of Liverpool).
“So maybe this is the last time we’ll see Haaland in a Dortmund shirt, in Champions League terms, because he won’t be happy, right?”
“I just think what the ripple effect will be on Jude Bellingham as well?” I don’t think Liverpool will be in the race for Haaland, to be honest I think he will be too expensive.
“I would love to see Liverpool get Jude Bellingham.”

The 18-year-old only celebrated his birthday in the summer. Moreover, he did so after becoming the youngest English player in history at a European Championship.
Haaland and Bellingham have yet to realize their full potential and could leave this summer.
Klopp wants Bellingham at Liverpool
Haaland will charge hefty transfer fees, and Bellingham is no different.
According to a recent report, however, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants his club to pay what it takes to land the English international.
Klopp sees Bellingham as a player capable of revolutionizing his team at Anfield.
Liverpool have a plethora of midfield options at their disposal but have had injury issues in that department this season.
