Cheryl made her major West End debut Friday night at London’s Lyric Theater in the production of Ghost Story: 2:22.

The hitmaker, 39, took to the stage to kick off her three-month stint as the leading female role of Jenny, following in the footsteps of stars like Lily Allen and Laura Whitmore.

It comes as Cheryl hits back at reports that the show got off to a late start due to rehearsals running out over time, leaving ticket holders lined up outside in the cold as they waited.

Cheryl took to the stage wearing a burgundy dress with a white floral print, high neckline and long sleeves.

Her auburn locks were bundled into an updo, with two sections falling over her face.

But when call time came, fans reportedly continued to wait as The Sun reported that guests waited more than 15 minutes for the late start.

However, a representative for Cheryl told TBEN on Saturday, “The show started at 7:44 p.m. and everyone was in their seats at that point.”

“It was a little delayed because it’s the first preview and it was completely sold out, so there were a lot of people to go into the theater. The rehearsals didn’t run out at all.’

It’s been rumored that Cheryl hopes to “reinvent herself” with a major stage role after a three-year hiatus from the limelight.

A source told new! magazine: “Cheryl wants to reinvent herself in 2023. She was on TV the whole time, she was the sweetheart of the nation. But she stepped away for a while to focus on being a mother.

“She’s excited to come back. Some things haven’t worked out in the past she’s tried, but this is a very exciting time for her.’

After signing on to appear in 106 shows, The Sun reported earlier this week that an industry booker revealed: ‘Cheryl gets around £1,000 per show.

“The deal is £100,000 but will also be linked to ticket sales, so if she helps move around 80 per cent of the seats, she’s entitled to more money on top of that.”
