Chicago First Alert Weather: Windy and Warm Thursday

CHICAGO (TBEN) — Mild tonight under mostly clear skies. Highlights will be in the upper 50s and low 60s.

Windy and warm for Thursday with highs around 23 degrees above average. A maximum temperature of 74° in Chicago would be just one degree lower than the daily record set for 2020. The reason for the unusual heat is strong southerly winds, sometimes with gusts of up to 30 miles per hour.

A strong cold front will arrive on Thursday night, making for a much colder Friday. The temperature will be around 40 degrees for most of the day. Although there may still be a few showers in the morning, we expect a mainly dry and cold afternoon.

Highs this weekend will be very cold, with temperatures reaching mid-30s during the day and mid-20s at night. This will be the coldest weather since the end of March. Highlights remain below average to start next work week.

There is a slight chance of a mix of rain and snow on Tuesday, but no snow accumulation is expected at this time.

THIS EVENING: Usually clear and mild. Low 59°

THURSDAY: Usually sunny, windy and warm. High 74°

FRIDAY: Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain in the morning. Airy and colder. High 42°
