CM Punk Believes Chris Jericho’s Broken Skull Sessions Appearance Shows Vince McMahon Not Afraid Of AEW | TBEN

WWE confirmed last week that Chris Jericho will be appearing on the April 11 edition of Steve Austin’s Peacock show Broken Skull Sessions. This will be the first time an AEW star has appeared on WWE lineup.

TMZ posted an interview with CM Punk to ask him questions about Jericho’s upcoming appearance.

“I think it’s interesting for sure, obviously I understand the buzz. Maybe I’ll try and watch this, but I feel like it’s going to be softball questions. I don’t know if they’re going to ask Jericho all the hard questions and I don’t think they should either. It’s an interesting situation and it will probably be a nice interview where they talk about Jericho’s past in WWE. I’m sure they’ll mention AEW, but they won’t get into the tough questions that I think people care about. “

Punk was asked if he was surprised that Vince McMahon and Tony Khan were okay with this.

“Honestly my gut reaction and my opinion is that I think this shows that Vince McMahon is not afraid of AEW at all. If he was, he wouldn’t allow that to happen. Every time someone talks about you, it’s good. There will be people who don’t know about AEW who will look at it and say, “cool, I didn’t know that, I just thought Jericho was retired. There’s also something to be said about keeping your guys special and the only place you can see this superstar is on my TV show. It’s a new era and both companies need all the eyeballs they can get right now, so kudos to everyone involved.
