Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy’s legal battle may not be heard by a High Court until 2022, it was claimed on Saturday.

According to reports from The Sun, the WAG, 34, and wife of Jamie Vardy, 39, may have to wait another year for their case to be heard due to the backlog amid the crisis coronaviruses.

It has been claimed that due to the delays Coleen and Rebekah could not expect their case to go to the High Court any earlier in the winter.

Delays: Coleen Rooney (pictured in November 2020) and Rebekah Vardy’s costly legal battle “ may not be heard in the High Court until 2022 due to the backlog, ” it was reported on Saturday.

A source speaking to the publication said: ‘It seems more likely to end in court. But their legal teams have been warned of the massive backlog.

“ The earliest possible to get to court is winter, but there is a very good chance that it will go until 2022.

It’s a nightmare because no one really wants this to drag on and it’s already costing a small fortune in legal fees. Coleen, in particular, just wants to move on.

TBEN has reached out to representatives for Coleen and Rebekah for comment.

The claims come after Coleen had Zoom mediation with Rebekah earlier this month, who saw himself and the Dancing On Ice star attempting to settle their dispute in a bid to avoid a High Court confrontation.

However, they failed to come to a resolution after the Liverpudlian accused her former friend of leaking stories about her to the press.

The zoom procedure began with both parties reading a statement, then going their separate ways into separate virtual rooms while the mediator spoke to them, and their legal representatives, independently.

The former columnist has reportedly tried to contact the brunette after another round of failed talks to avoid a costly legal battle.

However, she is believed to have seen mediation as a ‘waste of time’ as TV star Becky continues to demand an apology for her fierce accusation.

Coleen’s attempts for a peace deal with Rebekah have reportedly been denied as the mother of five continues to demand that she apologize for accusing her of leaking stories to the press.

A source told The Sun: ‘Nothing has changed. There has been no progress, no breach of light at the end of the tunnel – and no prospect of avoiding court. For Coleen, mediation was a waste of time.

“Coleen won’t apologize. She is convinced that she is correct that Becky leaked stories to the press and thinks she made a reasonable offer. She refuses to hold another mediation meeting and is now preparing for court.

Lawyers for the two stars are believed to have reported to the court with an update on the mediation talks.

Coleen is reportedly pressed by those around her to apologize and say that she regrets accusing Rebekah of leaking stories about her to the press.

She has already offered a decisive offer to ‘agree to disagree’ on the couple’s line.

A source told TBEN: ‘Rebekah is putting on her heels and wants Coleen to apologize.

‘But Coleen refused and her best friends told her that if she apologized it could lead to a resolution and end the dispute.

“ A judge is to be informed after the weekend whether the peace talks they had in the mediation meetings have worked.

‘If they haven’t – and Coleen has learned she holds the key – then the two lawyers will have a case management conference on March 26, which will be a big step forward to the High Court. ”

Earlier this month, Rebekah and Coleen met in intense face-to-face mediation over Zoom as they tried to resolve their high-profile dispute, but failed to come up with a solution.

However, the meeting ended with the failure of both sides to reach a resolution.

If they remain deadlocked, the issue will be settled in a full trial scheduled to take place later this year.
