United Arab Emirates ranks first in the world for countries with the highest percentage of people who have taken a dose of Covid-19 vaccine

The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention reported 318 cases of the Covid-19 coronavirus on Wednesday, as well as 380 recoveries and 2 deaths.

The United Arab Emirates ranks first in the world for countries with the highest percentage of people who have taken at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, the health sector said on Tuesday.

Dr Farida Al Hosani, official spokesperson for the UAE’s health sector, said 91% of the country’s population had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccination, citing statistics released by the “Our World in Data” website.

The Johnson & Johnson Covid vaccine is most effective when given as a two-dose regimen, according to new data released by the company on Tuesday.

A second injection given 56 days after the first provided 75% protection against symptomatic Covid in a global clinical trial, with this level reaching 94% in the United States.
