COVID-19: 37 vaccinated doctors at Sir Ganga Ram hospital in Delhi test positive


As the nation’s capital battles the fourth wave of the deadly coronavirus, as many as 37 doctors at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi have tested positive for COVID-19, hospital sources said on Thursday (April 8).

All 37 medical doctors were vaccinated because they had received the two injections of the COVID-19 vaccine during the first phase of the vaccination campaign which began on January 16 and covered all healthcare workers.

Most of these doctors have mild symptoms. A few complained of discomfort and were hospitalized.

Currently, 32 doctors are isolated at home and five doctors are admitted to hospital.

The nation’s capital on Thursday (April 8) reported 7,437 new cases and 24 related deaths in the past 24 hours, the health department said Thursday. The peak was the largest single-day increase in Delhi since November 19 last year, when 7,546 cases of COVID-19 were recorded.
