COVID-19: UAE reports 1,699 new coronavirus cases, 2 deaths

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has reported 1,699 new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections to 527,266, the Ministry of Health and Prevention said on Tuesday.

Two more COVID-19 patients succumbed to the deadly virus, bringing the country’s death toll to 1,598.

A total of 1,686 patients with COVID-19 also fully recovered, bringing the total number of patients recovered to 507,706.

The latest coronavirus patients, who are all in stable condition and are receiving needed care, have been identified after performing more than 179,453 additional COVID-19 tests among UAE citizens and residents.

The ministry expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery to all patients, calling on the public to cooperate with the health authorities and to respect all precautionary measures, including social distancing protocols, to ensure the public safety and protection.
