Dakar Rally 2021: Hero’s Joaquim Rodrigues finished 10th, Harith Noah moved up to 16th in the 10th stage

Hero’s Joaquim Rodrigues entered the top 10 for the fourth time this year, while Sebastian Buhler finished in 16th place overall. Privateers Harith Noah and Ashish Roarane have made considerable progress. Here is everything that happened during the 10th stage of the Dakar 2021.

Joaquim Rodrigues of Hero MotoSports finished 10th at the end of stage 10

The tenth stage of the 2021 Dakar Rally saw Hero MotoSports Team Rally continue an impressive race in a short but complicated day. Joaquim Rodrigues de Hero finished the stage in 10th place while his teammate Sebastian Buhler finished 21st. Privateer Harith Noah got off to a good start and progressed to 16th place at the end of the 10. It was also the fifth stage of this Dakar that Hero finished in the top 10, four of which were completed by Rodrigues.

JRod had the pace from the start and had a good pace throughout the 342km special which was mostly gravel. The link was 241 km. The strong progression also moved Rodrigues to the overall standings, as he ranks 11th overall. For Buhler, however, the day saw the pilot make a navigation error and lose time as a result. Nevertheless, he made up for lost ground and finished 16th in the general classification.

During this time, Harith Noah had slight navigation problems at first. The rider continued to make tremendous progress throughout the day and even managed to resolve an issue with his bike beeping in the second kill zone. He now occupies 24th place in the general classification.

Competing in the Experience category, privateer Ashish Raorane finished 60th at the end of stage 10. The rider had a cold and dusty start to the day as he traversed the rocky and fast sand sections. Raorane suffered a fall about 80 km in the stage, but managed to dust off and continue the hike to the bivouac. The rider however received a penalty of 15 minutes during the neutralization.

Joaquim Rodrigues said: “It was still a pretty quick and dangerous stage today with a lot of rocks. I decided to focus more on the navigation and everything went pretty well. I managed to ride. at a good pace and I didn’t make any navigation errors. I’m happy to finish the stage and get a good result for the team. “

Sebastian Buhler lost time at the start of the stage but recovered to finish 21st overall

Sebastian Buhler said: “I made a mistake at the start of the stage today which cost me a lot of time. But after that it went well because I started to feel good about it. the bike and to adopt a decent pace. Now only two days are left for the finish, so it is important to concentrate more and to get a good result, but at the same time not to take unnecessary risks. “

Meanwhile, the Monster Energy Honda team continue to lead the 2021 Dakar with Ricky Brabec winning stage 10, while teammate Kevin Benavides leads the rally in the overall standings. The Dakar Rally is now moving on to its penultimate stage – stage 11 – which will also offer the longest special of 511 km. Competitors will travel to the Yanbu region.
