Former England midfielder Paul Ince has called Man Utd “desperate” as they try to keep a star player from the clutches of Juventus and Real Madrid.
There are several reports regarding the Red Devils, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looking to find his best team while trying to please all of his players. A number of stars have been kept on the bench, including Donny van de Beek and Anthony Martial.
Van de Beek could leave in the January transfer window. Everton and Newcastle have both been linked with loans for the attacking midfielder.
Martial, for his part, is a target for the German team Borussia Dortmund. This is despite the fact that he has only scored one goal so far this campaign.
Paul Pogba is a player Man Utd are desperate to keep. The France international is one of their most valuable assets and one of Solskjaer’s most integrated players.
But with his contract expiring in June, European powers Juventus and Real take note.
Both parties want to collect it for free in July. They could even organize a pre-contractual agreement as early as January.
In response, Man Utd offered Pogba a new contract for £ 400,000 per week. Ince has now criticized the Red Devils for the inflated salary.
He said The united platform: “It is a sign of desperation on the part of Manchester United to offer this contract.
“Obviously, they are trying to persuade him to sign this agreement. That’s a lot of money for someone who’s been in and out of the side.
“He was on the bench two weeks ago against Everton and then all of a sudden you say, ‘Here’s £ 400,000 a week!’
“At the end of the day, if you pay that kind of money for a player, he has to play every game and we don’t see Paul Pogba playing every game.”
Ince then questioned Pogba’s ideal place in the starting XI.

“Where is his ideal position?” ” he added. “Where does Ole see him playing week after week?” We know where Bruno Fernandes is playing, it’s pretty easy. But where does Paul Pogba play?
“Is he playing in midfield like he did against Wolves?” Is he going to play it on the left side? Will he put him on the bench? There is too much confusion with Pogba’s best position.
“He was further ahead at the start of the season and his assists record has been fantastic this season. He was incredible against Southampton.
“But I look at this and I’m like, ‘What is it that makes you offer Paul Pogba £ 400,000 a week right now?
Man Utd set to sell England international
The United Chiefs are said to be open to selling an England striker in the next transfer window.
Eye football write that Jesse Lingard, 28 will be allowed to leave Old Trafford.
A separate report from Metro says European heavyweights Barcelona and AC Milan are interested.
Barca’s poor financial situation means they will only be able to afford a free transfer.
This makes a visit to the San Siro more likely. Either way, Lingard is aiming for regular playing time, just like he did at West Ham.
