Calcutta: West Bengal BJP chairman Dilip Ghosh said on Thursday that if elected to power in assembly elections next year, his party would withdraw all bogus files against political activists, including those of the Trinamool Congress.

The Left Front government led by the CPI (M), after coming to power in 1977, had withdrawn all political affairs, including those against the workers of the rival party. The Trinamool Congress led by Mamata Banerjee dethroned the Left Front in 2011.

“Mamata Banerjee’s vindictive regime has slapped hundreds of bogus cases against workers of TMC political opponents, including BJP,” Ghosh said during interaction with party members and supporters in Rajarhat near Kolkata .

An air of fear reigns in West Bengal, said the head of the BJP. “Once voted into power, the BJP will ensure that the people of the state, the political activists can live freely, breathe freely in the open air,” he said.

Ghosh claimed that 120 party activists, including leaders, were killed by the TMC and that the ruling party continued its “program of killing political opponents” even during the Durga puja festival. “We have lost two of our activists in recent days and to avoid handing over their bodies to relatives, the administration said one of them was COVID-19 positive. This TMC government has shown it can come down to such low levels, “he said. said.
