Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who was hospitalized after complaining of shortness of breath on June 6, has been released from Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai.
In a tweet on the legendary star’s official Twitter account on Friday, his family friend Faisal Farooqui wrote: “With your love and affection and prayers, Dilip Saab comes home from the hospital. Endless mercy and kindness from God through Drs Gokhale, Parkar, Dr Arun Shah and the entire Hinduja Khar team. “

Kumar, who was admitted to PD Hinduja Hospital in Khar, Mumbai on Sunday with respiratory problems, was later diagnosed with bilateral pleural effusion. He was in the intensive care unit on oxygen support.
On Monday, doctors assured him he was recovering and would be released soon. Dr Jalil Parkar, the pulmonologist treating the actor at the suburban hospital, said: “Dilip Kumar’s health is improving and the problem of shortness of breath has eased as well, but he continues to receive oxygen”.
Earlier on Sunday, Dr Parkar claimed that the actor’s condition is stable now and said: “His condition is stable now. Even though he is in intensive care, he is not on a ventilator. We do. do our best to get him to recover quickly and get home. “
Prior to that, Kumar’s wife Saira Banu took to social media to write an open letter letting everyone know about Dilip Kumar’s health and urging fans not to believe the rumors surrounding the death of her husband.
“In recent days, my beloved husband, Yousuf Khan, was not feeling well and was recovering in a hospital in Mumbai. Through this note, I want to thank you all for keeping him in your prayers and for all love and affection. My husband, my kohinoor, Dilip Kumar Sahab’s health is stable and the doctors have assured me that he should be out soon, “she wrote.
She also shared a photo of Dilip Kumar from the hospital that went viral within minutes.
The superstar has suffered from age-related health issues in recent years. Last month, the 98-year-old actor was admitted to the same hospital for two days for routine checkups and tests.
Known as the “King of Tragedy” of Bollywood, Kumar’s career spans more than six decades. He appeared in over 65 films during his career and is known for his iconic roles in films like ‘Devdas’ (1955), ‘Naya Daur’ (1957), ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ (1960), ‘Ganga Jamuna’ (1961), ‘Kranti’ (1981) and ‘Karma’ (1986).
