After numerous false reports that the ill DMX rapper died Thursday night, rapper manager Steve Rifkind clarified that he is still alive.

The 50-year-old rapper (real name Earl Simmons) has been hospitalized since Friday night after suffering a drug overdose that triggered a heart attack.

He’s been in intensive care since then, and although Rifkind has confirmed that the rapper is still alive, he’s made it clear he’s still on life support and still has a long way to go.

“ DMX is still live but he’s on life support, ” Rifkind said in the caption of his video, posted to Instagram Thursday night.

“Everyone, stop publishing these rumors. DMX is still alive. Yes, he is on life support, but please it doesn’t help anyone seeing these false rumors, ”he began.

“Let the family relax for a night. You will hear a statement from the family tomorrow, ”Rifkind added.

He went on to say that he’s been with the rapper, “ for three years so the only thing I’m asking is to stop the rumors. He is still alive and on life support. ”

Comedian Luenell was apparently the first to post on the death of DMX, picking up her Instagram story by saying, “ It’s over. My friend is gone. Take to the skies with the (eagle emoji) Join the best who ever did. RIP DMX. ‘

This was shared on social media, although she later removed it after confirming the rapper was still alive.

DMX has been in critical ICU survival since hospitalization, with a new report from TMZ claiming the rapper’s family face a tough choice.

There was no improvement in his brain function, although the ordeal brought the rapper’s family together even stronger.

The rapper’s mother Arnett Simmons, fiancee Desiree Lindstron, ex-wife Tashera Simmons and Yadira Borrego, mother of two of DMX’s 15 children, have formed a ‘tight-knit group’ with all the children.

The report adds that, perhaps as early as Friday, the family must make the decision whether or not to remove him from life support, with his mother Arnett having the final decision.
