DOJ Said To Get Closer To Trump As Cabinet Officials Reject Former President

The DOJ is reportedly moving closer to Trump as numerous cabinet officials cooperate in the 1/6 criminal investigation.

CNN reported:

The Justice Department is getting closer and closer to former President Donald Trump. New CNN reporting shows prosecutors are in a major fight to testify about the role Trump may have played leading up to Jan. 6.

Trump himself is not yet considered a target. But the list of trump officers who have already worked with the select committee, now working with the DOJ, is growing.

The DOJ is gearing up for the biggest battle for executive privilege since Watergate and Richard Nixon. Trump cabinet officials are freaking out because they don’t want to potentially face criminal charges or be associated with the likes of Eastman, Giuliani and the rest of Trump’s lawyers who fed the failed former president with lies about the election.

The key in the CNN reporting is that Trump is not yet a target of the Justice Department. The DOJ is not saying that Trump is not or will not be a target in the future. They are just saying that Trump is not yet a target, which is a characterization that should worry the former president.

The DOJ doesn’t need to make Trump the center of the investigation. They can investigate Trump while investigating the fake voter scheme. Merrick Garland is slowly and carefully making his way up the food chain and the Justice Department is getting close to Trump.
