Dolly Parton shares another rare snapshot of herself with husband Carl Dean to wish her fans a Happy Thanksgiving

Dolly Parton shared a rare flashback on her Instagram account on Thursday.

In the photo, the 75-year-old country music icon was seen hanging out with her rarely seen husband Carl Dean as they sat next to each other on a sofa in their early years.

The Jolene singer also wrote a short message in the caption of her post which read: “Happy #Thanksgiving from me and mine to you and yours.”

Parton hasn’t shared many photos of Carl, who prefers to keep his privacy, in the past.

However, the singer posted an edited photo with her husband on her Instagram account earlier this month.

In the photo, the Grammy-winning artist was seen standing next to her partner, who had one of his new t-shirts touched up on his body.

She also wrote a short message in the caption of her post that read, “Find yourself a partner who will support you like my Carl Dean does!”

Parton and Dean first met outside a laundromat in Nashville in 1964, when the singer was just 18.

The two dated for over a year before deciding to formalize their union in 1966, and they notably crossed state lines to keep their marriage out of press attention at the time.

The performer’s husband appeared on the cover of his 1969 My Blue Ridge Mountain Boy.

The retired asphalt finisher has chosen to stay out of public sight for much of his time with the hitmaker.

Parton brought up the rumors that her husband was imaginary during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, where she noted that maintaining high public visibility was not in her nature.

“A lot of people have thought that over the years because he doesn’t want to be in the spotlight at all. It’s just not who he is. He is a calm and reserved person, ”she said.

The artist said she admires her husband’s reluctance to engage with the media and is happy to stay in the spotlight.

“I have always respected and appreciated that in him and have always tried to keep him away as much as possible,” she said.
