The producers of “Dark Side of the Ring” are working hard on the episodes that will be part of the third season.
Now, it is reported that the producers will be covering one of wrestling’s best-known tragic stories, which is the life and career of Dynamite Kid.
Pwinsider reported today that the producers filmed the content of an episode about Tommy Billington. They interviewed his first wife Michelle, their children and former sister-in-law, Julie Hart.
He was a star of the Stampede Wrestling promotion, led by Stu Hart, as well as a former WWE Tag Team Champion. He had a few classic matches with Tiger Mask and considered a pioneer for inspiring the fast style that is still popular today.
Eventually, he was in a wheelchair after losing the use of his left leg in 1997 due to back and leg injuries sustained throughout his career. Billington suffered a stroke in 2013 and later died on his 60th birthday in 2018.
The report also notes that Vice TV will air a special called “Dark Side of the Ring: Confidential.” He will see a preview of past and future episodes, as well as Conrad Thompson, interviewing the creators of the series. The special was taped last year at the old ECW Arena and will air on Tuesday, March 9.
Topics expected to be covered in Season 3 include Chris Kanyon, Bruiser Bedlam, XPW, WCW Collision in Korea, and Brian Pillman Sr.
