Liverpool are looking to sign a man from Porto whom they will face next week in January, Tottenham have a new goal in mind to replace Harry Kane, while Wednesday’s Euro TBEN claims Barcelona are close to making a deal to sign a Manchester United star.

FABIO VIEIRA ON LIVERPOOL RADAR

Liverpool are reportedly considering a January move for Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira – but they need to act quickly to secure a deal.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been watched by Liverpool scouts for some time. Indeed, he was first mentioned as a potential target for the club in June.

Since then, his stock has increased thanks to his title of player of the tournament at the Euro U21 championships.

And with his deal expiring at the end of the season, Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards reportedly felt a chance to trap the player at Anfield.

He is currently in talks on a new deal with the Portuguese giants. And that would see his exit clause drop from € 30m to almost € 50m, reports Save.

However, any failure to sign that contract could open the door for Liverpool to strike a discounted deal in January.

Indeed, with the passing of time for both James Milner and Jordan Henderson, Vieira is considered the heir apparent to the skipper of the Reds.

Henderson recently signed himself to a new contract at Liverpool. However, at 31, his best days may be behind him and Liverpool know he will one day have to be replaced.

To add to the intrigue, Liverpool will take a closer look at Vieira’s talents next week. The Reds were opposed in the same Champions League group with Jurgen Klopp’s side traveling to the Estadio do Dragao on Tuesday.
