Everything we know about the Winter Love Island villa


Love Island is back for another winter installment – ​​and that means a departure from the usual Mallorcan setting.

Instead, the popular ITV2 reality series has moved to South Africa for the next few weeks.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new Love Island villa…

Where is the villa?

The holiday destination can be found in Franschhoek, near Cape Town.

The villa itself is situated on the 25 acre estate of Ludus Magnus and overlooks the Franschhoek Valley and nearby mountains.

In the area you will find a number of luxury hotels and the region is known for the production of fine wines.

What’s in the villa?

As with the previous villa, this luxury complex features a large swimming pool in the center, with an adjoining outdoor kitchen.

The villa also has a gym and the ever-popular “hideaway” – with a sign reading “Get Sexy” above the bed.

For the participants, there are eight bedrooms all individually decorated, all in the main house of the villa. There are three other villas nearby, where the crew is housed.

In a familiar face before Love Island fans, the villa also has a fire pit, with a South African BBQ.

The villa is of course not the only thing Love Island changes for its new winter series.

Laura Whitmore has stepped down as presenter of the series, with radio and TV star Maya Jama taking over the reins.
