An expert believes Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum could already have struck a deal with another club.
Wijnaldum is in the last year of his contract at Anfield, where he has been since 2016. At that time he won medals in the Premier League and the Champions League.
He remains a key player for Jurgen Klopp, but his trainer may soon have to find a way to work without him. Wijnaldum will be free to negotiate with foreign clubs from January.
Indeed, going abroad is the most likely option for the midfielder. Barcelona have been closely linked with him over the summer and still retain an interest.
Wijnaldum played under Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman for the Netherlands, and his former coach would now like to have him at club level. however, two obstacles prevented a deal from being reached this summer.

2021 could be the year for Koeman to get his man, although Barcelona are not alone in their best interests. For example, Inter Milan have joined the race for his signing.
Whoever gets his hands on Wijnaldum may have already struck a deal with him, according to former Premier League striker Kevin Phillips.
He said Football insider: “It wouldn’t surprise me if something has already been agreed.
“Legally it can’t be made public but it wouldn’t surprise me if something was done in the background.
“I read that he turned down a lucrative new deal, so there must be something in the works.”
Wijnaldum could leave in January
If Wijnaldum has to leave Liverpool there is a good chance they will lose him for nothing, unless they sell him in January.
Alternatively, the 30-year-old could sign a pre-contract deal with a foreign club when the winter window opens, which would allow him to travel for free in the summer.
Phillips believes January could be a pivotal month to find out about Wijnaldum’s plans.
The expert added: “It wouldn’t surprise me if he signs a pre-contract in January or leaves in January.
“It’s a shame for Jurgen Klopp because Wijnaldum was one of the best players in Liverpool. This is another issue Klopp has to deal with with the New Year. “
