EA Sports FIFA 23 will be released on September 30 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC Steam and Google Stadia. There are two cover athletes this year.
Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe returns, but he’s joined by Chelsea’s Sam Kerr.
This year’s game offers the next level of development in EA’s HyperMotion 2 technology and machine learning. EA released a deep dive video to give fans a more detailed look at what the technology has to offer in FIFA 23.
HyperMotion was introduced in FIFA 22. The technology allows EA to capture full 11-on-11 action in motion to get more realistic animations applied to FIFA 23.
In addition to 11-on-11 matches, EA also used HyperMotion 2 to extract animations from practice sessions. According to the deep dive video, the practice sessions allow the development team to take multiple shots of subtle actions that may be harder to catch during full matches.
The machine learning concept uses an advanced system designed to make the system intelligently branch the appropriate animations based on the most commonly used actions in match situations.
EA preaches three-level gameplay improvements. New skill moves (including left footed, Mbappé fake shots, stutter fake and heel fake) and signature animations for the best attacking players, new strats for the defenders and more actions for goalkeepers.
Look out for more information about FIFA 23 as it will be available before release.
