First degree murder charge added for person involved in Mount Dora murder

The woman identified as a person of interest in the murder of a Mount Dora couple now faces two counts of first-degree murder, according to Lake County Jail records.

Vickie Lynn Williams, 50, was extradited Friday from Savannah, Ga., to Lake County on grand larceny charges after she was arrested while driving a stolen car belonging to the victims, Sharon and Darryl Getman. The murder charges appeared on the Lake County Jail website on Saturday after she appeared before a judge. A statement of arrest was not available.

Mount Dora interim police chief Mike Gibson said on Tuesday that Williams had been seen on camera and by security guards several times Dec. 30 at the Waterman Village senior apartment community where Sharon, 80, and Darryl, 83, lived. Their car was photographed leaving the facility shortly after 2 a.m. on December 31. Later that day, guards were alerted that Getmans’ garage door was open and found their bodies inside.
