The ITTF Executive Committee met on July 26 and 27 in Malmö, Sweden, and decided to launch this year’s inaugural ITTF Summit. After two years marked by the COVID-19 pandemic and the travel restrictions, the ITTF summit will bring together the world’s table tennis leaders to shape the future of the sport.
Summit events include the conference series of the ITTF Annual General Meeting 2022, the Board of Directors meetings, the Continental Council meetings and the Executive Committee meetings. Keynotes and workshops on sustainability and diversity are also organised.
“The ITTF Summit will be a fantastic way to bring the table tennis family together after two years of travel restrictions and video conferencing. We take the time to meet, exchange best practices, exchange ideas and expand our network. This summit should become an important meeting place for the Olympic and Paralympic movements and the business community. I also want to welcome guest speakers with specific expertise to ensure that the table tennis family stays at the forefront of all important topics.”
— ITTF President Petra Sörling
The host city will make history by hosting the inaugural ITTF Summit and welcoming delegates from 227 member associations, ITTF directors, global representatives of the table tennis family, and guests from the sports movement and business.
Six cities have already expressed interest. The hosting period is set between November 15 and December 15; the ITTF Executive Committee will select the host no later than August 12.
