Focus – War in Ukraine: Wounded and Grenade-Shocked Soldiers Treated for PTSD

Issued on:

The war in Ukraine has turned into an artillery battle that produces a continuous stream of wounded and shell-shocked fighters. Our reporters James André, Virginie Herz, Wassim Daly and Oleksi Gordeev were given rare access to a hospital in the outskirts of Kiev, where nearly 200 wounded Ukrainian soldiers are recovering from traumatic experiences on the front lines. But not all injuries are physical. The hospital, which specializes in physical therapy and psychiatry, uses relaxation and acupuncture to treat post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
