Former Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews has recovered from an injury and was named Wednesday, in a 22-man squad to face England in two tests at Galle. But the injured pair of batsman Dhananjaya de Silva and rhythm thrower Kasun Rajitha will miss the streak from Thursday, after taking part in the 2-0 test streak loss to South Africa this month. Mathews, 33, has not made the trip to South Africa due to a hamstring injury but is expected to line up against England, in matches that count towards the first Test World Championship .


The team led by Dimuth Karunaratne will resume a series that was cut short in March, after England returned home due to coronavirus fears.

Both matches will be played in Galle behind closed doors.
