COMMERCE, Ga. (CW69 News at 10) – Investigation of Steven “Mike” Michael Blackmon, 56, led to new reports that he may have abused children in Tennessee in the late 1990s and in the early 2000s, according to a statement from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
Authorities have arrested Blackmon on 31 counts relating to various charges of molesting children in commerce and is currently being held in Gwinnett County Jail awaiting trial.
Blackmon owned a hockey store called “Hockey Stop Memphis” which was located on the second floor of the Mall of Memphis, above the ice rink. They also learned that he trained Cordova Wolves for a few years. While Blackmon resided in Memphis, he went by “Mike” and used the last name of “Blaekman”.
Investigators believe Blackmon left the Memphis area in 2002 or 2003 after being questioned about possible inappropriate contact with children.
The Department of Commerce Police, GBI, and the FBI are seeking information from anyone who knew Blackmon while living in Memphis, Tennessee. This case is still active and ongoing.
