Gerald Malloy: Vermonters Are ‘Fed Up’, ‘Ready for Change’ in November

Gerald Malloy, Vermont’s Republican Senate nominee, said “Vermonters are ready for change” after being “tired” of the current leadership in the country during a performance on Breitbart News Saturday.

“I can tell you that you’ve been campaigning for the past seven months” [with] boots on the ground… Vermonters are ready for change,” Malloy . told Breitbart News Saturday host, Matthew Boyle, Washington Bureau chief of Breitbart News.

“Vermonters have common sense, and they see, you know, pay at the pump and pay at the grocery store, and they’re tired of the performance… of their leadership in Congress, and they’re ready for change,” Malloy explained.

He also noted that the campaign is moving in a “very positive” direction after a recent poll by the Trafalgar Group showed Malloy is just 6.5 percent lower than Rep. Peter Welsh (D-VT), a career politician backed by socialist Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT).

Retiring Senator Patrick Leahy is the longest-serving member of the Senate, which is why this election would mark the first time in decades that the Democrat seat is up for grabs.

Malloy recounted his years of service, starting at West Point, eventually being commissioned as a field artillery officer, and traveling the world to serve in the military. Malloy explained that after the military, he worked in many government agencies and law enforcement agencies and spent more than a decade in business and completed his MBA.

The Green Mountain State Republican stated that his experience in the military, working with the government and in private business is “very applicable” to holding office. Malloy added that he has a “sound foreign policy”, which is currently lacking.

Malloy went on to say that one of the “most important things” he wants to bring to the Senate as a Vermont representative is “de facto leadership and achievements” and “not being a career politician.” He went on to explain that he will be “someone who is really willing to make tough decisions, fiscally sound decisions and even go one step further, better decisions for all Vermonters, all Americans, not just part of the far left, but better ones.” decisions for a better future, because the path we are on now is a dangerously bad path.”

Regarding the country continuing on the current path with Democrats in power and continuing their reckless spending, he said, “It’s basically a path to collapse where we can’t afford Social Security or Medicare, Medicaid or have the defense budget.” that we need, so we have to make some changes that Vermonters are doing for several months to see that.”

Malloy even noted that the Democrats’ reckless spending with bills like the “Inflation Reduction Act” showed how they are “disconnected from reality” and that inflation is the rest of the “massive, reckless overspending”.

“That’s the reason we have the high inflation and the combination of the decision they wanted. The Biden administration has killed your oil and gas industry. That’s why we had oil and gas independence… the government just decided to give that up.”
