London model Yasminé Aisha Khalifa Holmgren has worked with celebrities including Victoria’s Secret, Marina Rinaldi, Ferragamo and Pat McGrath. Known for her enviable glowing complexion, Holmgren shares her favorite beauty and skincare products to create a fresh and luminous look.
Xlash eyelash serum: Xlash is a Swedish brand that produces eyelash serum. I started using it after one of my best friends recommended it and have been using it for about 8 months now, and all of my friends and family know how much I love this product. I’m basically forcing people around me to go buy it. My brother and I even bought it for our mom as a Mother’s Day gift. It’s a serum that makes your eyelashes grow, and it really works!
Supersonic hair dryer & Dyson Corrale Straightener: Last year in Copenhagen at Selam Fessahaye fashion show, Sainabou Chune was working as a hairdresser and she played an important role in changing the diversity and knowledge of Swedish hair fashion, especially curly / afro hair . This time, she was working with a team from Dyson, and I learned how important it is not only to use the right products for curly hair, but also the tools. Personally, I try to put as little heat as possible on my hair, but when you’re working as a model it’s really hard to avoid. So after this fashion show I started using only Dyson hair tools and it drastically changed the health of my hair. So now I even bring them to work with me. Plus, the straightener even has an airplane mode!
Rimmel London ScandalEyes Volume On Demand Mascara: I never really used a lot of makeup just because of the simple fact that I’m not good at doing my own makeup and my little sister who is a makeup professional (in my opinion) literally laughs at me every time I do. ‘try to do it myself. So the only time I have a full face is when I’m working. So if you ever catch me outside, the only makeup I probably have is mascara and eyebrows. I love getting new tips and tricks from makeup artists!
Tea Tree Oil & Tea Tree Anti-Blemish Night Mask by The Body Shop: The Body Shop sent me a package about a year ago with their entire collection of tea trees and I’ve been hooked ever since. I can literally go to bed with my face looking messy and wake up flawless the next day thanks to these products. So I’m very grateful that the Body Shop put me on the product, and if anyone on the team reads this, please send more.
Restorative Revitalizing Cream with Shea Butter by Cantu & Jamaican Black Castor Oil by Shea Moisture: When it comes to my hair, I’ve been through a tough love / hate relationship that most curly girls have, but over time I’ve grown to appreciate and love my hair for what it is and I try to take care of it as much. as I can now. Since I stopped wearing it straight, I have used both Cantu and Shea moisturizer, and as soon as my hair gets used to one, I switch back to the other. I apply the products right after a shower or after wetting my hair with a spray bottle. My hair type is definitely not for the Swedish winter, so using these products during this season is even more important to keep it hydrated.
Raw coconut oil: Coconut oil offers a lot of health benefits and it’s probably the only product that I actually use every day. I use it as a moisturizer for my face and body. What I love so much is that it is organic, and I can use it both in my hair and face routine and also for cooking. I also love the smell.
Lemon: Anyone who knows me knows that I love lemon and luckily for me there are some health benefits. Eating lemon is definitely a family affair, and my twin sister and I have been known to always put lemon on everything we eat, and when I say everything I mean anything from pizza to a sandwich. or pancakes. Now, I know it’s not everyone’s favorite, but even putting a few drops of lemon in a glass of water can benefit your average health.
The water: Without going too deep into the science behind drinking water, I would like to say that it is important to stay hydrated and that it improves the health and beauty of your skin in general. So I always try to drink as much water as possible and I never go to bed without a water bottle next to me. I also eat a lot of chocolate, almost every day and a friend of mine once told me that I can offset all the negative effects of eating it by drinking more water… now whether it’s true or not, I do not know. But to feel better, I declare it as a fact.
