Giovanna Fletcher’s brother Mario Falcone reveals that she saved his life following a suicide attempt when he was at his lowest level.

Former TOWIE star Mario, 32, says his sister, 35, came to his rescue after trying to end her own life following a painful break-up with ex-fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh.

Speaking in a candid new interview, Mario said of Giovanna: “ I owe him everything ” as he reflects on the dark moment in her life.

Mario has since changed his life and become a father, and says he has to thank his big sister.

Speaking to Sunday folks, he said: ‘People might not know it but Giovanna literally saved my life when I was at my lowest level.

“Eight years ago, I was going through a very difficult time going through a very public breakup. I was getting a lot of hate on social media and felt really pushed into a corner – like this was the only way out.

The reality TV star has previously opened up about her suicide attempt, which came after her relationship broke up with partner Lucy, 29, in 2012.

He recounted that after waking up the next day he was relieved that he had vomited and at that point he vowed to ask for help.

Describing Giovanna’s intervention, Mario said that despite her “ shock ” at her actions, she was “ amazing ” and “ amazing ” and quickly took action to help her brother.

The author and podcaster organized four days of counseling for Mario at a renowned London doctor, followed by ten additional follow-up appointments over the next few weeks.

Detailing the effect it had on him, he said: “ It really changed things for me. She encouraged me to talk to people and not to keep things bottled up. It saved my life – without a doubt.

Since getting his life back on track, Mario has found love with makeup artist Becky Miesner in 2016.

The couple are now engaged and share a two-year-old son Parker Jax.

Mario’s words come after Giovanna reveals that she previously filmed a scene for TOWIE, alongside her reality TV star brother, but was cut from the show.

“They convinced me to be part of the scene. They must have really convinced me, ” she told campmate Shane Richie of her reluctant decision to participate.

“It was a huge thing for me to say that I will. And then I got cut. I was more upset to have been cut. I’m not TOWIE enough!

While Giovanna was in the Welsh castle, little brother Mario was sure to keep supporting her despite being admitted to hospital.

Posting stories on Instagram on Wednesday, Mario shared a video taken from his sickbed, watching the endurance reality show.

With Giovanna on screen taking on a task, he captioned the post: ‘Watching from my hospital bed! ”

He shared another snap giving a thumbs down, his hand with a drop in it.

The TV personality, who was recovering from a hernia operation, captioned this: ‘I feel like pooping but coming home soon! ”
