The school has been closed since Tuesday due to staff shortages.
It is clear that a number of staff have resigned while an investigation is underway into allegations of abuse at the school.
Nancy Bell, leader of the Te Tai Runga (South) Department of Education, said staff met with Gloriavale Christian School board members Friday morning to discuss their plan for the school’s reopening.
It plans to reopen to all 183 students next Tuesday, with a combination of classroom teaching and home learning.
Being a private school, the employment of teachers is administered by the school and as such the ministry was unable to comment on the number of employees working at the school.
